Stick Framing Vs Light-Gauge Steel
Modern Construction Specialties has expertise across all major construction skills. On this page, we are highlighting our capabilities in both traditional stick-framing and light gauge steel. While wood framing is still dominant in the market, steel is a growing option, especially on commercial projects.
The advantage to steel is that it won't burn, shrink, rot, or provide food for termites. When properly engineered, steel can be stronger than a wood frame. And because it doesn't shrink or warp, there is little worry about drywall cracks.
Light-gauge steel framing is more often used in commercial construction projects. Also, fewer builders actually do it, due to the additional skills and required tools. However, we are proud at Modern Construction Specialties to offer this option.
